had even a more weird experience on the dancefloor, it was a live set and i heard "we are under surveilance" transported by the synth. how this even worked made no sense for me. it made sense for me with the title and the hektik synthlead, that told the story for me in german. i remember in sugars heartless he talked about a relationship, that the other person did something bad and he could never be friends with this person again. sometimes a track told like a little story, sometimes it was just some words that could make sense in the context of a set. not all sounds carried meaning, but when they made a lot of sense. sounds were actually words for me and melodies full sentences. I had that for a time, it was more like a form of synesthesia. Please can someone confirm whether this is true. I really love techno music but this is making me question my own sanity. At the Polygon club I'm sure they were saying "thigh high socks look great", "I wish someone would buy a drink for me", "make your transition" and then the voice turned female and due to internalised sexism I found it easier to switch off. "I am the way, the truth and the light" etc. In Melancholy 2, I was put off from drugs entirely as I smoked some sativa and I was sure that I heard the DJ tried to echo the paranoid inner monologue of typical American male "was that porn I saw on the internet legal". "why is everyone so white"."You tourists are all the same, you're all so lame". At About://Blank this weekend I was sure that one of the DJs started mixing "where have all the black people gone?". Recently however I've been sure that DJs mix in between certain beats and frequencies subliminal messages directed at the crowd. I have no interest in going to clubs to take drugs or meet girls, for me it's a meditive thing, which is why I like to go alone. I find a degree of community in a dark room where everyone is doing their own thing together without cameras. I live in Berlin and I like to go to Techno parties for the sole purpose decompressing after a stressful week.
